Roof Raise Questions

Not sure if you're still looking for windows, I went with Motion Windows, they make any size and have several frame options and colors. I think 6-8 choices for glass. They are shipped in a bomb proof crate. I got mitered corners and they forgot to seal the frame. Found this out after install. I figured it out without removing the windows. Despite this I'd still order from them, ended up being a far superior product and really didn't cost much more than recpro or lippert.

Ok, I have more questions. Roof raise is finally welded in and I’m moving onto window framing.

1) window placement: is it better to install them butted up against the top of the existing window frames or should I choose a spot that is X amount of inches from the floor?

2) when framing windows, does tubing dimension need to match clamp ring size?

my overthinking mind is twisting into a knot. 😢

Answering in reverse -

The wall thickness (the skin, insulation, inner paneling, whatever) the full sandwich, should nominally be the specified clamp ring distance. You'll have butyl tape on the outside but that won't use up more than maybe a 1/32" after squeeze out. Any thicker sandwich than that and you may have a gap between window and clamping ring. You can make a gasket with neoprene or something.

Window placement isn't driven by framing like a house. It clamps on the wall sandwich so they can pretty much go where you want them. IMO there is some aesthetic value in having them line up or be associated with a body line, but it doesn't really matter. Avoid curved surfaces - one reason maybe to drop them below the upper window frame.
