Hey I got a flat nose International 72 passenger
Just got the roof up with all thread, and welded in about 4 square tubes in the hat channel
the hat is just over 1 1/4 wide, and the best I could come up with was an 11gauge square tube shimmed up with an 11 gauge flat bar. I cut the flat bar to just 9" on either end (the length inside the original channel) so the middle section is just the square tube. It fits snug and holds tight after welding.
EVERYBODY says go 14 gauge for the channel supports but metal in my area is just ridiculous, most places just told me they won't even sell materials.
I used a staggered method like Wes from transcend existence on youtube, so all the weight isn't in the dead center, but I'm starting to get a little paranoid about the weight difference.
Any tips on using 11 gauge for the supports? I'm a little worried about the weight difference but I'm sorta between a rock and a hard place here.
Thanks
