Anyone have any advice on replacing the emergency roof exit with a sunroof? Is there a specific brand/model that is a perfect fit? Doesn’t necessarily need to open, just for light. Thanks!

I've seen about 30 YouTubers who have built their own. It's one of the easier projects as far as skoolie DIY goes.

If you want more than just a skylight and want a fan/vent/skylight combination, I just installed 2 of these this weekend:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HQZASRW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have never done anything like this and it was easy (much easier than I thought). The emergency exit was 24 x 24 and these vents were 14 x 14, so it required a 27 x 27 piece of sheet metal to cover the gap. I used this caulk for under the sheet metal, along side the sheet metal, and along side the roof vent:

And I used this putty tape for under the fan/vent:

And then TEK screws to hold down the new sheet metal and to attach the fan/vent to the new metal piece. Finally primed it, and covered the edges with Butyl tape from Home Depot as a third level of leak protection.

I like this idea. Especially since we plan to install a RV type gas range. This could be great when cooking.
Thanks for the info. I’ll discuss this with my husband as he’ll have to do any wiring.

Wiring is easy. 12V DC. It comes with a wireless remote control. So all you need to wire is just a single positive and negative wire.

Unfortunately the price of the unit went from $286 to $312 this month.

That's for the high end one with the rain sensor. Base model one is like $150

Lots of people in the Amazon reviews are recommending the cheapest one with the switch instead of the remote since it becomes inop if the remote gets broken or lost.

I wanted the rain sensor that only came with the 3350 & 7350. At the time I bought it, the 7350 was only $16 higher than the 3350. By buying 2, I at least have a backup remote. But, aside from the rain sensor, it looks like you'll pretty much get the same features from the base model.
