RV Electrical Safety

Such good Info

Noelle and I are building out our 30ft skoolie, and learning from everyone has been excellent. Reading everyone's reply and input for electrical safety is super helpful.

Late to the party

RVSafety

We need to all read this series of articles. We might even want to print them out and save in a binder as part of our "owners manuals" for our buses. (I saved all the articles as PDF files using PDFLite to print out later plus save on a USB thumb drive). I think this series may help many of us understand the basics of a mobile electrical system. I think these are the types of articles that you save, like Phred's Poop Sheets.

Poop Sheets

Fred aka Phred Tinseth, was Escapee member number 394, essentially an ancestor. He wrote articles on every aspect of RVing in the Escapees Magazine dating back to 1980. He died in 2012, but much of the research and materiel he wrote are still intact in his “Poop Sheets.”
To quote him, “Most standard RV equipment is unacceptable trash, there’s a better way...."

Hey can you post the links to these pdfs updated. It says the site is down for maintenance.

A lot of these links don’t work anymore. EDIT: should have read above. I found them at their new home.

I verify these⤴ links each time this thread receives an update. The links I've posted above still work.

I created an offline copy of those files so in case the server ever goes down the information is not lost forever.

Simply download the zip, extract, and Run the "START_HERE.html" file to view them. No internet connection is needed and will work from wherever you extract it as I compiled it to work that way.

Offline copy stored on my personal server. Click link below to download your own copy for offline viewing.
