I have a 2003 TC 2000 and want to fabricate a hitch for it, but want to know what to do to make it safe to weld and not blow the electronics. The 2003 is the first year with a computer on engin. Any help would be geatly appreciated.

IIRC, I've read that you can remove the battery cables, and connect them together. Some also disconnect their elctronics. Others say just make a good clamp connection of your welder lead as close as possible to the work. You just want to prevent welder current from going through the electronic stuff.

esp for the computer vehicles, always disconnect the battery. and to be safer clamp the ground close to where you are welding instead of at the other end of the vehicle.
esp when running a mig.
i normally just weld if using the sureweld stick welder and not disconnect the battery, but have had elect problems after using both migs.
