Sealing the Roof

I know I'm digging up an older thread but from everything I've read I think I'll be going with the Dynatron 550 you've suggested. Do you know (aprox) how many we'd need for a full size bus?

I also have gone from dead-set on Henry's to trying to decide between Snow Seal and just plain 'ol flat white. Do you have any opinions on that matter? I've been reading through every thread I can get my fingers on!

:Thanx:

My bus is 35' and I've gone through at least twenty tubes of the stuff so far. It totally just depends on how much stuff you need to seal. Since Autozone has it by far the cheapest, I generally just buy whatever Dynatron-550 any store happens to have in stock when I'm in there. There's also a Dynatron-570 which is white.

Henry's supposedly seals a roof, but if you seal all your roof seams with the 'tron you won't need whatever Henry's provides in that direction. You mainly just need something reflective.

I'm looking for something to use to seal my roof leaks before I paint! :)

We used Sikaflex 221 to seal every seam, and a blob over every single rivet on the roof. I think it took like 8 or 9 tubes for our 11 window bus. No leaks, and it blended in pretty well with the off white color of the roof. It's sandable and paintable, but you don't need to sand it you just need to smooth it with a wet, gloved finger. We've used Dynatron 550 too, but it's a little pricier. Works good too and also smears pretty well with a wet, gloved finger.

I also have used silaflex on past rigs including my sprinter van which has seen every weather possible. 3 years and holding like the day I applied it. I like knowing the dynatron 570 white is another option.
