seam sealer vs 3m 5200 FC van to bus body?

how is everyone resealing the van body to the bus body and the bus seams like rain gutters and mine has fiberglass caps front and back

the bus will be painted white and I originally got 3m white 5200 but now am second guessing myself

should I use 3m urethane seam sealer in white instead?

costs is not much of an issue, just longevity

5200 is designed to be a permanent adhesive sealant for wet environments. It is used widely in the marine industry.
It takes 2-3 days for it to fully cure and when it does, man is that stuff super hard to take off!

On a boat you don't want to sink so that's the stuff to use.

You can use it on your rv/skoolie but if your have to remove it for whatever reason, you might just invent a few new cuss words. Just ask anyone who had to replace trim tabs on a boat!

I went with a Home depot product for sealing gutters. Inexpensive, can be applied under wet conditions and cures hard, just not as hard as 5200.

While it is a metal to metal sealant I have used it on PVC with no issues, and it is paintable too.

yeah in some ways i feel like 5200 is better for metal the fiberglass cap etc
than the 3m seam sealer which seems like it is for metal to metal

but I don't really know

I guess the question is will the 5200 crack eventually and I was under the impression one of the advantages of 5200 was it will stick to itself so you could always touch it up later??

I don't know if the urethane seam sealets are the same or not

Don’t overthink it, pick one and move on.
5200 is tought to remove if you need too later on.

Urethane has some flexibility andceasier to remove.
