Greetings! I stuck my head in about a year and a half ago with a wheelchair bus and a disabled husband. I ran out of time and disappeared but need to get it together. I hope I can come back with new questions:
1)How do you secure things like a sofa or a kitchen counter in place? The bus is fiberglass so I can’t be poking holes everywhere. But things slide and fall if I am a little careless around a corner. I am ready to put in a floor and add some furniture or add furniture without building a new floor. The floor is in good shape but it’s only 1/4in thick so there’s no real insulation.
2) what is an ideal adhesive to mount firring strips to the interior walls to allow me to mount shelves above windows for books, kitchen storage, that kind of thing? And is that how you do it?

not being rude life happens to all of us and priorities are first projects hit the back burner all the time around my place.
you have enough post try to send us some pictures of what you are working with and you will get better answers of people that have dealt with what you are working with.

I'd agree maybe some pics of your bare walls so we can see what type of construction you're dealing with being that we're customed to metal school busses.

I where this is going to go is, you're going to need to mount your own nailers, aka something to be able to anchor to. So if we can find something strong enough in these fibreglass walls, to where you run something like a 1x4 or 1x6 the length of the bus front to back at maybe 2 different levels, then you'll have something to anchor too that will hold cabinents and sofas firmly in place. Maybe something like a foot off the floor and 2 feet off the floor. To mount those nailers, you might need to use some kind of backing or added supports to make them strong. Once you have those rock solid the length of the bus, then you'll have something you can anchor everything to with either wood screws or lag bolts, or some other strong fastners. Surely there's a way to work this out, but send pics for better advice.
