Securing ceiling

that's impressive :thumb:

I just went out and whacked with a hammer and they came off easily, but they hold the weight and I'm good with it.
Need to start wiring and was pleasantly surprised to see a hole through the fore/aft ribs in every single section to run wires through, I had planned on drilling my own.:thumb:

Quite handy, Remember the grommets!

Nice work on the experiment! I just LOVE a little scientific process.

i had a customer request that i glue all the sheetrock up in a room, same reason as you, no fasteners to tape over=less work. I like your idea, glue the wood on the metal ribs, I think I'd go at it with PL 3X construction adhesive and poles to gently press the boards in place. Try to not press too firmly so as to glue starve the joint, but just firmly enough.

I made a few "T" braces in the profile of a ceiling rib the exact length floor to rib. They should work perfect on the 1/4" panels going up.

Keep some tape and or shims handy to get them braces just right for height, you may find a little variance.

I'm planning on using some underlayment in 1/4" down the center of the bus and then 1/4" T&G boards from there down. Would I be making a mistake gluing these boards and panels. I don't want a bunch of fasteners showing.
:Thanx:

Thomas glues the steel roof panels to the ribs now with industrial aircraft adhesive. I think you'll be fine on the interior. Just get the good stuff.

Mark,
Are you using all rigid foam for your insulation. Just curious. I'm finding it hard to get a spray foam contractor to commit.

Yes, I keep getting to points where I say okay, now I'll spray the rest. But things change so much that I'm avoiding the "permanence" of spray foam. Doing a piece of 1/2" first followed by a tightly fitting 1" piece seems to take the curve. I will use cans of closed cell to fill in once everything is kosher.
