Seeking the Skoolie Gods, or experts will do!

True that! Sadly, that card isn't in our hostess' deck.
When I see something like this, I have to keep reminding myself that I bought my skoolie as a learning experience as much as anything else. But damn would it be nice to live in something this pretty.
BTW, bravo on your roof raise comment! [emoji106]

Yeah, you were right... I got my hands full with one POS already.
Unlike you wheeler-dealers, I don't have the means to flip busses, so, before now, why'd I bother looking..?
( As to the numbers, I think he included those 3 magical letters: OBO [emoji106])
Those are what I'm talking about!

They can be had even cheaper, 25k is top dollar on one like that.
Right now, however, I GOTS to get me some friggin' A/C, ASAP, b4 all that's left of me is a greasy sweat stain!!!

Hi 01marc... I think, the $100k is referencing the other posting of a beautiful converted coach by a Miss Jesse something... the immaculate white interior coach selling for $149k- the link on this referral is of a heavy duty, macho skoolie... and that’s just by looking at the outside!

Both the ones I linked are less than $40k.
One is $29k. About what an un-insulated quickie skoolie job seems to sell for.
All I'm saying is if my 61 year old mother who didn't know how to even pump gas was looking to not live in a motel *tomorrow* I'd tell her to buy a nice rig already built and ready to go rather than see her rough it in someone's failed school bus build. Its personal advice to a stranger from a stranger, so take it for what it is but its my honest advice.
It takes a good long while to build a decent "skoolie". The decent ones for sale seem to go for the same price as a nice converted coach so I just don't see the point of buying a lesser product for more money.

I will go take a look. I thought a bus could be converted in a month! My biggest concern is the mechanics of it. I never had a car that went over 100k miles. And not knowing a thing about engines and transmissions is what makes me most insecure about making such decision.

Last week I saw a bus on Craig’s List. Training bus, 2007, almost brand new, white and location close by. It had I think, 50k miles and no rust. Selling for $5k ... but when I responded, had already been sold. I would have bought that one if a mechanic could have inspected it.

There’s quite a few on eBay, I just wish I had a consultant to examine the specs... highlight the good, point out the bad and spin out the rest!

Hope you got your AC .... and hey, I’m still waiting to hear how you knew the LEO thing...

Have you got those numbers?

No not a nurse, or anything like that!

What part of Long Island? And is there any chance you're a nurse or elder-care attendant or something like that?

I’m originally from Dix Hills, now in Medford, but until 2017 in Patchogue.
Are you from Long Island? I also lived in the North Shore. And I worked in New York City most of my life and until World Trade.

Waiting to call Best buy after they open in a few. Found something reasonably serviceable that likely can be had today, yay.
Pretty sure the astrological explanation was on another of your threads...
You want numbers? Only got this one, 3.14159265359.
mmmmmmmm... pi-iiiiiiiii...

Anything newer than 2003 will be very complex to work on and very expensive to repair. Emissions basically ruined diesel engines.
School buses are mostly beat and tired by 300k-400k. A real coach like the ones in my links often go a million miles before an overhaul. they're "macho" because they're actually built for the purpose.
A tarted up used school bus is a horrible buy. Most of us bargain shop and spend a year or so converting.
A month conversion will usually get you a school bus yellow, uninsulated bus with a bucket for a shitter.

Yes, I was referencing the $149k bus. I just don't see that much money in that build, no matter what they are asking for it.
