Seeking wisdom of the crowd

Just saw this thread, sorry.
I'd rather have mechanical injection and no computers to contend with.
Prices were ok, though. A bit higher than I'd want to pay. But they sound like relly nice buses for the money. I saw "rebuilt transmission" in the description.
That's always a good thing.
Did you buy one?

Did you buy one?
nah, waiting for perfect timing too, still remodeling my house for market.
3 more weeks and I will be ready to pull the trigger for sure.

Thanks for the feedback tho - even late :)

With how many wires need to be pulled out and eliminated in a bus conversion, there is no way I would buy a bus with any sort of computer.

I pulled the entire wiring harness out. I will start from scratch, only reinstalling whats needed.

I have a friend who is doing ALL my wiring and such for a case of beer. :)

In My Opinion.

No way I would let your friend do the wiring, nor should you.

If you don't do it yourself, how are you going to fix something when it fails?

No short cuts or freebee's taken here. Only way to get it done right is to do it your self.

However I'm a bit critical. I feel if you can't fix what your driving, you should not be driving it!:D

Hes A GENIUS and I oversee everything that goes on...
Thanks though. I can fix darn near anything, I'm just not too proud to take people up on their generous offers. I have no ego in this stuff really. Not about machismo or bragging rights. Just doing the best I can on a severe budget. Having someone whos way smarter than myself step in when it comes to all things electrical is not a bad thing at all.
You're kinda preaching to the choir in the regard of being able to fix or construct things.
I didn't build my car, some robots in Japan did. But I fix it when it breaks.
I didn't build my house in 1950, Some real idiots did and I fixed it over the last few years. On a tight budget with lots of help from friends.

Sounds like Eastcoast isn't the type to take advantage of anyones generosity and most likely will be right at his friends side while the work is being done.

Are you saying Nat, that "hands on" (or right there LEARNING) Isn't a good way to go?

No, not at all.

I simply miss understood. I thought he was going to be sitting somewhere drinking beer, while his buddy was getting it done.

Side by side, learning with the electrician is the place to be.
