Short vs Long

1995 International Thomas T444E Diesel - 175HP Allison Automatic Air Brakes 65 Psg

What is needed to transfer this from Florida to Ohio and register it as a rv and drive it legally without a cdl I’m new to this and would appreciate any advice

take signed title to Ohio BMV, They will issue temp tag so you can drive it back to Ohio.
(You will need insurance)
Then, in order to title it as a RV you will need to fill out a form saying it's been converted and has RV requirements; I think that includes food prep, sleeping and bathroom facilities. My plan, is to get the temp tag, drive my bus back from Maryland then not worry about the title until I have my conversion done. I'll have to pay the penalty ($5) for not getting the title work done with in their time frame. But saves me from titling as a private bus then converting title to RV later.

Would it be cheaper to convert it myself or have a business do it for $300

Uh ... you're not going to get much in the way of an RV conversion for $300. They might throw a couple of sleeping bags, a few logs and a bucket in the back for that kind of money.

A dealer is charging me $300 just to change the the title over to a rv would it be cheaper if I did it

At this point, you gotta let us know where you live and where the bus is and where it will reside. Each state is different.

Since I drive buses for a job length doesn't really bother me. I've gotten full size buses in some pretty tight spots when driving charter trips.

Also people these days seem to be paying ludicrous money for full size shorties. They were somewhat rare to begin with but paying twice the money for less space doesn't make sense to me.

I don't think OH is one of the "easy conversion states"...

To the OP; read up on Ohio's BMV site to see where you fall...
I believe that ECCB is referring to the title process in Florida. It is indeed simple to get the bus titled as a MH by installing one of three items:

( ) Installed 110 volt electrical wiring

( ) Installed LP gas piping
( ) Installed plumbing system

Since it is in Florida, it could be titled as a MH in Florida, then taken out of state. I agree with Banman that Ohio's rules would also need to be consulted as to the process of transferring the Florida MH title to an Ohio MH title.

BGA and the other gougers are charging for a freebie. They're scalpin noobs daily.
