Shorted my Front instrument Cluster

SOS interlock?

I was trying to bypass the interlocking system and Shorted the front panel.
The bus can't be started from the driver's seat.

The front instrument doesn't light up anymore.
I assume it was shorted out.it won't start.
The rear Diagnosis Start does work so the engine is ok.

Please reply for more details. thanks all




The pink wire was traced to the interlocking system and was connected to the little silver solenoid which has three wires connected

Check the fuses at the drivers console and at the rear engine panel. I blew 6 fuses when I accidentally shorted out the interlock system.

In your first picture there is a heavy gauge wire coming in on the upper left. It looks to feed a relay panel/fuse block (the one with the white tape). Trace that, physically, back to it's source and I think you'll find a circuit breaker in the line. Do you have a test light?

I know this is too late, but to disable my interlock I just located the wire behind the driver's seat and screwed it into a rib to complete the circuit. I plan to rerun the circuit through the cabin later on with switches to make sure I remember to deadbolt the cat door and fold down the tables etc. before setting off. Also, it seems like literally every single person that messes with the electrical box ends up with a non-running bus for a while - I don't have the courage to even attempt it.

I believe the entire interlock system can be removed, it's an add-on anyways. You're right though it seems like a daily thread on the subject..."Bus won't start". I'd be inclined to start fresh with any alarms/reminders where I need them, scavenge the chassis for what I could use as far as relays and fuse blocks and set the carcass in the dumpster.

This CV19 is really taking a total on my project.
I work in the restaurant industry which is very unstable right now.
Good News is that I've followed all of your instructions and found the issue in reference to the "non-start of the front instrument cluster".
In the pictures, I've posted herein F16 fuse had blown. I simply visited my local AutoZone and replace the 30a fuse and the whole thing lineup

Now I'm moving on to removing the damn interlock so I can start the bus.

Glad you figured it out. Think about replacing all the fuses with the type that light up when they blow. It will help save you future heartache.

There are l manner of in-line fuses in your first picture. The prominent one in the lower right corner, in front, should give you an idea of what they generally look like. Good luck, troubleshooting takes patience
