I put a double Ford Transit seat into my bus (35" wide total). I seriously pity anybody that might actually have to sit in it for more than 5 minutes.

welded studs to a large metal plate and secured it to the floor before installing subfloor. got the seat (air seat)from a freightliner

I'm considering doing a foldaway seat, like what is found here: https://www.suburbanseats.com/products/bellagio-foldaway-seat-custom-order?variant=42083935584487

I want it mounted next to the driver seat so when it folds up there should be enough room to pass by normally into the bus, but there wouldn't be access to the driver seat. When you need to drive you put the seat back down and then you have belted seating for 2 passengers. I have a rear engine bus, so there's no engine cover to worry about in my application. Haven't done the measurements yet, but that's my plan so far.

I’m using 04 Chevy avalanche seats.I used the base of the bus seat and a plate between both and wired it so the electric adjustments work.The reason I used avalanche seats is their comfy and the seatbelt come out of the upper shoulder of the seat…cheers

I found an Audi A4 passenger seat on marketplace for $85. It was brand new. It’s always the drivers seat that wears out. Run a 12v wire and you get full function seat. I don’t have the heat hooked up yet. All I need is 3 position knob or lo-med-high buttons.

My drivers seat is from a Chevy avalanche like the previous poster. My seats don’t match but they’re both black leather. Nobody notices.

Solution

After much thought and all the great examples from others, we decided to install one of these at the footwell, with a little trap door for feet over the steps.
