Hi Folks,
I just picked up a 2001 GMC Savanna 3500 "Shortie" 5-window bus. I found the bus on eBay and it was located in PA. I thought, "No problem, I'll just drive up and drive it back." I did and it turned into 12+ hours of driving. I live in the middle of Virginia and the bus was in the middle of Pennsylvania!
Anyway, I got a sweet deal on it. Only has a little over 82,000 miles and everything works as prescribed.
I got it to use for my construction business. I've definitely outgrown my E-150 van. I'll probably have questions about removing windows and installing sheet metal or installing safety screens over them (If I can find or make them).
Going to be a fun project!

Nice. I know that feeling. Bought my bus in Elkton Ky and drove it home all the way to central FL. Took two whole days of driving.
I'm looking for a shorty to use as a work van myself.

Hey EastCoastCB,
What have you done to your bus so far to turn it into a work horse? I'm definitely open to ideas and will post my ideas and progress as well. After working out of Ford vans for years I have so much room now I don't what to do first!

My 40' bus will be a motorhome when I'm done. Its at the end of the demo phase. Taking forever.
I'm looking for a fullsize shorty to use as a van though.
