hey I got a solution for you. In place of using your schools computers browser get yourself a 1GB or larger flashdrive (memorystick, USB Drive or whatever name they have) and install PortableApps http://portableapps.com/ on it.
It is for free since it is all opensource. You got Firefox portable browser, e-mail client, addressbook, Calendar, Open Office etc. You will leave no trace on your schoolcomputer all your links, favorites, downloads, e-mails will be stored on your flashdrive and you will always have them with you on any PC you'r going to use.
Set it up on your homecomputer and try accessing sites like Skoolie.net, download extra things needed like Flash etc. and it will be ready next time you try it at the college.
good luck
You also can just type http://www.skoolie.net/forum in your browsers address bar and bypass the flash start page go directly to Skoolie forum.
