So.........moving enticed me to buy a bus

Yes,
When two-men-and-a-truck type movers want $4000 or more to move us 400 miles................I got to thinking of alternatives.
And busting our butt to load and unload a rental in a three day time span was not appealing either. Besides the cheapest truck rental wanted $800 just for the use of truck.
And I have always wanted to build my own MH.

Anyways, tomorrow we go to get a 1999 IH conventional with 8 windows in front of the handicap lift. Hope all goes well without issues driving it home.
Then out with the seats and start loading it up for the move.
The handicap lift should come in real handy.

P.S. when I got my apartment hear in florida.. i used my Bus as a moving van.. brought stuff from ohio.. then stopped at IKEA and bought more stuff... then I called a labor company that Unloaded MY bus for me.. couple hundred bucks for 2 guys and my stuff was in my 3rd floor apartment!!!

This bus will be used for moving our stuff to 45 minutes north of Tampa.
Then it will be used as sleeping quarters for my inlaws when they are down here for the winter. Eventually I will fit it out to a full featured RV.

Eventually as in I have to build a house on the property first.

The 320 mile trip home went great with no issues.
The bus boss said their buses are limited to 67mph, ours would cut the fuel if you got to that speed. Which was only when going down a hill.
On the flat I could floor the fuel pedal but only get up to 64 per the speedo. Of course that could be off a bit. Dang noisy inside this tin box, I wore ear plugs most of the time, LOL.

145k miles on it. Bought via GovDeals from an Alabama school.
After my first 40 years in Michigan, it sure is great to buy vehicles from south of TN.

Michigan vehicles seem to be some of the worst anywhere for rust.
I went north of TN for mine. Elkton KY. Virtually rust free!
FL buses are over-priced garbage with little maintenance, and the highest prices anywhere to boot.

the maintenance crew must have power-washed them for their monthly inspection. When I picked it up Friday, the bus super told the two mechanics I was there to pick up an auction bus. They asked "which one" I blurted out "the cream puff". When the two mechanics were told which one by the boss they said that IS the cream puff.
Bus boss handed me a file of papers 2" thick of all the maintenance and repairs since new.
It was even full of fuel and after driving it home 325 miles the tank or gauge is now at 1/4 full.
So far very pleased.
