Some advice on picking a shorty!

Any reason why? I've heard diesel is the way to go so I've been focusing on diesels for the most part...

The ford 6.0 Diesel ruined lives. Worst engine ever put in a truck.

Purchased it 3 months ago with big hopes and dreams, and just can't get my husband on board with the idea and the build is way beyond my capabilities. I'm looking for something to live in pretty much full time. I could do 4 windows but I'd prefer a 5-6 window bus (be that a skoolie or a transit bus) and I would be traveling fairly often (hopefully lol) mostly on highways. I think I def want diesel because of the longevity, but because I'm not mechanically inclined that's why I am having such a difficult time....Im seeing ALOT of transit/van chassis stuff as a 6.0L diesel which is making it hard...Curious to hear what engines I should be looking for and why? Thank you all for all the help!!
