SOS: Crank no start after super cold night

Fuel supply is tomorrow's plan.

I do hear the pump running every time i turn the key, but for some reason, nothing is leaking out of the plug i untightened enough. Will check fuel bowl first thing in the morning.

So i wasn't expecting to ever freeze my fuel so i've never added winter additive other than Lucas injector cleaner. I've read about Diesel Kleen 911 additive in the fuel bowl and tank, sitting a couple hours to clean up and reliquify the diesel.

Is that ligitimate claim if it got mega super cold ?? Any substitution or procedure recommandation(s) for a cold winters newby ?¿ 🙃

Updates :

Yesterday and today:

Managed to drain the fuel bowl, fill it back up by turning the key, had some pressure when i drained it a second time. Changed fuel filter. Filled the bowl with some Diesel Kleen 911, poured the rest in the tank, and let all that sit for couple hours, primed the fuel pump a couple time. Still having WTS light acting normal, and a volatage drop for about 30 to 90 seconds depending on outside temp.

Cranks, won't fire.

Had torque and the Ford modules activated.

Here is what I DO get when connected to ECU KOEO :
-Batterie voltage 12.9v (when GP's go off) (~11.8v when GP on)
Voltage does drop under 10.5 when i crank though :/
- HPOP ~50 psi (then peaks at ~700 psi if i crank)
- Eot 17/20°C
- TrannyTemp 17/20°C
- Map sensor -3.6 psi
- EBP 13.7 psi
- Super weird InjPW jumping from 0 to 45k every other second

Here is what I DO NOT get KOECranking :
-Fuel pressure of any kind
-Torque or Revs
-Camshaft/Throttle position (??? CMP sensor diying of cold ???)
- And pretty much everything else i could desire checking

Or just some major wiring issue (pulling my hair off)

Ohmed out injectors at 42 pin, all around 2.4ohm dead cold. (In spec)

Spoke to a Diesel mechanic coming later to plug his computer, hopefully run a way better scan, therefore way better diagnostic.

Opened the rear passenger fuel line to see, when priming bowl, had a nice squirt come out. So i got it hand tight and doesn't leak when cranking, which does usualy.

HPOP pressure is off also.

Watched the videos linked by Mr P. (Diesel Ron & Deboss)

Also watched "The death of the 7.3" about low pressure oil pump building pressure in the HPOP.

If anyone has thoughts or experience with that, i beg you to step in please 🙃 🙏

Test CMP Sensor pigtail for continuity, ground checks out good, 5.5v to the central pin. Going to swap my CMPS with the diesel mechanic's working one to check that off the list, hopefully soon now.

What else .. ??

Something is definitely not right between Voltage drop, HPOP low pressure, low fuel pressure when cranking (?) and CMP Sensor not bringing info to OBD2 plug (could be my crappy adapter or Torque configuration, tried my best, far from perfect) OBD voltage is 12.8 that's knoledge, lol ..

Holly smuck ... 😥

When cranking, what is engine RPM on the scanner? Cranking RPM should be in the 200-300 rpm range. If the scanner shows 0, you probably have a bad CMP sensor. Or bad pigtail, or bad harness, ect.

So we did run a good scan, their computer doesn't show rpm either and trows a CPS code. Testing a fonctioning one tomorrow morning from their shop.

The pig tail's #1 pin grounding is good (double checked), voltage at pin #3 is the same as the batteries, and i have 5.5v at pin #2 when KOEO. All in specs here as well.

A part of me would be so happy that's all it is, and another part of me would be piiiiiiissed, and will get a Motorcraft one ASAP !!!!!!!

But anyways, making some progress 😛👍

Will know more by tomorrow.

Cheers !

Mystery solved,

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Camshaft Manifold Position Sensor may die after a very cold night.

Need a detailed explanation about what this guy is doing back-probing the sensor like shmeering butter on bread but not showing much :

Thank you all for the support, tips & thoughts 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

See y'all somewhere down the road ☀️

Glad it's fixed.

(FWIW, there is no such thing as a "camshaft manifold position sensor". If CMP means camshaft position sensor.)
