Hi, I’m in the process of converting my StarCraft shuttle bus into a small workshop. I want to keep the original metal interior, but am in the process of tearing down the walls and ceiling to upgrade the factory insulation.

While tearing down the walls, I thought it was going to be simple to slide out the upper wall panels, but it appears to be locked in by this metal flange? I tried to gently ply it away, tap it with a hammer and a plank of wood to distribute the force, and also heat the flanges, but have had no luck getting it removed. The panels were originally caulked to the frame and I’ve removed this already. Before damaging the panel, I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove this without major damage? I’ve attached photos of the walls/flanges.

Thank you!

If anyone finds themselves here with the same question, the panel is caulked to the frame, it’s easiest to pry the metal strip slightly away from the panel using two screwdrivers. Then use a heat gun to slightly loosen the panel by bending it forwards the inside of the bus until it can touch the slightly bent metal again. Then go back and heat each window segment again until you can lift the metal up, working from segment to segment. This will take awhile.

Yeah or you may have to just remove the windows which also takes time, but may be good to do anyway to re-seal them.
