Hello, new guy here.
I have started gutting my bus. 85 Thomas on b700 chassis.
My question is the stock roof vent above first row. Can I remove it?
Does it have to stay for any particular reason?

Its just a passive vent. I got rid of mine, no regrets at all. They're pretty crappy and prone to letting water into the ceilings.

I should get rid of mine too, if only for looks. With the interior ceiling down and a good look at it, it didn't look like it was anything useful. When I spray foamed, I filled that cavity. As if I didn't have enough do to, it's now on my to do list.

Its pretty easy to do. A small square of steel and a handful of rivets or screws + about an hour or so. You can use the Dynatron 550 you're using for the windows and use it for that, too.:thumb:

It makes a good hole for the roof air I have 2 will remove and use the rear one first then if it doesn't cool to my satisfaction , kiss the front one good bye. Or might use it for the pop up machine gun turret.
