Has anyone purchased items from Temu to install in your Skoolie? Things appear to be cheaper on there than Amazon, but as much as I want to save money, I am worried that they are cheaper for a reason.

I haven't used temu, but have consistently found stuff cheaper on ebay, with a few exceptions. Replacment parts, solar equipment, security stuff.

The game controllers and one set of racor filters were amazon, everything else came through ebay cheaper

Temu? Just use your loaf

Temu is very hit-&-miss. They are more of a shipper, less of a retailer, so they dont vet the products or sellers.

TC buys alot of stuff from their app. Approximately 300 items and 100 shipments, so far.

Most often, the products are fine: good quality, great price. Other products have a well written description, then fail miserably upon arrival. Sometimes the items are tiny or the plastic is very thin. Other times, the oddities are completely unpredictable. One example of this is two beautifully designed purses, both were very well made and stylish, however a faint smell of fish inside began to nag at the wearer with time. But again, most of our purchases have been terrific & we'll continue to shop there. We are more ware now.

My advice, before you click buy-now, double-check the manufacturer or brand via Google, look for additional suppliers such as Amazon or Walmart (Walmart does vet their products) and compare the features, read the reviews. Pictures can be deceiving, read the fine print. Verify that you are buying from an established manufacturer and not a fly by night newbie.

Returns? TC has emailed them several times regarding a small sized or damaged product. Temu usually tells her to keep the item and refunds all of her money. Other times they'll send a replacement, at TC's request. There's never a problem with returns or customer service.

I buy from aliexpress without too much concern but temu is known for its bait and switch tactics and you don't have to look hard to find people who were sold items that were not as advertised (not just in function, but many people get sent products that are completely different)

Not worth the trouble imo.

I've only made one bus purchase from Temu.

I decided to do this as a test. I wanted some Phone holders that I saw on Amazon but they were $30 a piece. I needed two. Temu had the same exact ones for $12. Shipping took over a week and they advertised it would take that long, but I got them, installed them, and they work well.

At the same time I also purchased a 4k Video drone for $12. I was very skeptical for the price. A drone for $12 that shoots 4k video? Can't be possible. But it's $12, it's not a huge loss if it's bad and it's a good test to see the kinds of products TEMU would provide.

The Phone/ipad holders. Great and good quality.
The Drone. Extrodinarily cheap. Wouldn't survive a hard crash..... But, it indeed bluetooth pairs to my phone and I'm able to indeed record in 4k. The flight distance is limited though to about 60 feet so not far at all but I can capture roofs and just go over the tree tops to record a property video. For $12, it was indeed more than I expected and was impressed, but I acknowledge if I fail in controlling it and crash it, it will likely need to be disposed of.

So that has been my experience so far with TEMU. I will try them again if I'm looking for a cheaper alternative. You'll sometimes get an decent product for less, but most times it will be cheaper than what you may expect quality wise. Seems to sum up my use for them.

I purchase from Temu regularly. For cheap Chinese stuff they are usually the best price around. Some rules:
1 - don't give them a CC#. Use Paypal
2- When they get your phone number and email, they will be relentless. If it is too much, block their notifications.
3 - Read the descriptions carefully. Don't go by the photos. Sometimes the photo shows 4 of something and a price. The price might be for 1.
4 - The Chinese are marvels at making products for any target price. The quality will match. They can make good stuff. They can make $12 drones.
5 - Expect a few disappointments. They happen. I avoid buying computer memory, batteries, and cutting edges from them. At least with Amazon, the return is easy. I have been able to get credit if I bother them enough on a bad item.
6 - The shopping app Rakuten will typically get you 6-25% cash back. I got $50 back on a $200 diode laser cutter that Amazon was selling for $279. I paid $150.
7 - Most of the games are BS. I did well on the 'pick 6 items for free, then buy from this page and spend at least $60'. I happened to need some of the stuff on the shopping page so I ended up with about 70% off in total.

Super advice! Thanks!
