The 99 bumbel bee

So my wife and I picked up this 99 e450 shuttle with an Eldorado body. She's a solid bus 200 k on the clock with you got it a 7.3 powerstroke. So we have been poo up camping here in Colorado for about three summers and we have decided to upgrade to real walls and plumbing. Because here in the mountains we can have 100 degree days and 50s by 9pm. So I would say our plans are modest simple bed shower and toilet with a kitchenette. I'm a plumber by trade so I'm sure I will go a little overboard on the plumbing but well see. That's my nephew he just really wants to drive but he's gotta grow another inch or two first.

Rusty your very right on that. I have a 40 for the fresh I'm going to put it in the back curb side corner almost the same as Roach711. The gray tank will the longest length 8" diameter PVC pipe I can get up next to the drive shaft then the black I think I'm going to weld up a tank to fit in the skirt just in front of the street side wheel and behind the big ac condenser. I had thought about dropping the giant ac set up but my wife and I decided we want to keep as we do most of our traveling over big distances and in the summer. Pictures for the tanks should be up this weekend I hope.

Ok so I have a church built in 1885 that I'm turning into a home. So I had some 2x10 that I had to pull out so I repurposed them into our counter tops. I ripped them all through the table saw then glued and sceeed them to a 3/4 ply base. After the glue set I busted out the block plane. Some sanding more sanding then more sanding.

Then there's the shower. We mounted a 32x32 shower base from Ferguson's supply house. I framed it up with 2x3 for the shower valve and the wall behind the driver seat made from a sheet of 3/4 ply then sheeted the wall with more ply then FRP. Not my favorite.

Been going back and forth on bathroom/ kitchen placement for my setup. I REALLY like how open yours looks. I think the pics has swung me to bath at front. My layout will be almost identical to yours. Nice work...keep the pics coming! Your build may finalize my entire project! Thnx:bow:

Hey Doug thanks for the comments I really like the set up but I have to say I really like the way Roach711 did his layout. Having the bath over the back opens up a lot of space under the floor for your gray tank and black tank if you go that way. But anyhow good luck

Im using a Thetford cassette toilet, so no black tank, only grey underneath bus. My fresh tanks 2x33gal will be under bed to prevent freezing. I love the look of the smooth FRP there!(closer pics of that bathroom wall available? Like how you sealed joints) Hope to find something like that in glossy grey. I do need to go back and look at Roach's set up.....cant find it now. lol. Anywho keep up the nice work. More ideas for me to steal
Just out of curiousity, what where you interior dimensions? 7widex16long(rear wall to driver seat back) seems about avg for these shuttles. Thnx again

So yeah mine is 7.5 wide and 13 long and 6'6" tall that's what I love about the shuttle. So I just glued the heck out of the FRP to the walls with are all solid 3/4 plywood. I used a really good tub and shower silicone for all of the joints. Just make sure all your surfaces are super clean before you run your bead. I deal with a lot of FRP in commercial kitchens and I find that is the best process. Ohh and a real good sharp set of sheet metal shears cut it really nice.

For sure Liquid Nails makes a FRP specific adhesive and 3m is also a good brand. Might be a little harder to come by.

So I did some repair on the sheet metal under the stairs the ply and flooring. Built all the cabinets then made the doors to fit. Lots of failed attempts at the doors. Next paint.
