Ours used a padlock on the outside of the door. I need to lock from the inside as well. Although I have yet to lock the door on the RV while in a campground since the dog died. I ALWAYS lock the door when pavement parking.

in a bus from the inside you can all ways wedge something between the step and the middle of the door (center hinge) it wont open

Only works if you have an operational center hinge... we no longer do!

And won't work at all on some buses...both doors on my B700 opened outward.

I drilled a hole through the handle and latch, and put a small bolt with a wing nut (not visible underneath the latch in this view) on it for an inside front door lock:

Yes, but a BROKEN lock gives you something to show to the insurance adjuster, while no sign of forced entry makes him think you're a crook pulling a scam.
