I'll happily keep an eye out for something along those lines. I'm planning to carry LPG for cooking, so to me it's more sensible to run off of LPG than gasoline so I don't have to tote three different fuels. If I could find a small, quiet, reasonably-priced diesel generator, I might change my mind, but my I can't find a genie in any of the lamps I rub.

I'm trying to stay single source. Diesel water heat, diesel heat, and diesel stove. Guess I'd be totally hosed if the tank ran dry. But I'd like a second tank just to extend the driving range if nothing else. A 40ft bus with a 60 gallon tank; what were they thinking?!! I'd like to ADD (not replace) a 100 gallon tank. There's plenty of room between the frame rails in front of and behind the original tank.

Not for me; that's gasoline and LP. You can buy those as Tractor Supply to Lowes and everything in between.

That's the downside of searching through the forum with certain words...you sometimes miss the build threads! Exactly what I had been looking for. Any chance you could get a few up close shots of what you did? This'll be my project within the next week or so

Okay, got some close-ups showing various aspects including some from inside showing where the new screws come through:

















It looks a little rough in some places, but once the sealant is tidied up and the panels painted, they will look just fine.

My windows will be for my friends greenhouse when I get out to new Mexico after my build is completed. Once I'm done and quit my jobs, I'll be out there helping him build up his property some

Armchair critic, ... is that over the rub rail? Mine will be under the oem metal at the top of the windows, over the metal at the bottom of the windows and under the rub rail. It's going to be fun to try to get it to "pop" into place.

Thomas and Bluebird does this differently. The top of our thomas rub rails are already underneath the sheet metal, unlike your bluebird that is right on top of the metal. We would have to remove metal skin to remove the rub rail, which isn't really necessary since the rub rail is covered from factory. What he did, and what I will do, is the sheet sitting flush where the rub rail is under the bus skin where the little bump is, so it lays on flush with that

Are those self tapping screws you used for the new skins? I have been going back and forth between doing mine with rivets or self tapping screws. I would rather use the screws , but didn't really know the pros and cons.
The new skins look great though congrats on getting that done
