Looking at a dognose 1990 International 3700, 444 engine with 5 speed manual trans. 112k miles, already painted white, 12 windows so guessing 30-35 feet?. Supposedly runs/drives fine, tires probably need replaced soon. Seller asking $2000, thoughts? It’s only 90 minutes from me so I can go check it out in person

Low miles is good. The 7.3L IDI is a reliable engine. Might want to test drive and see what top speed is. The price is right depending on rust.

That is the IDI 444.

A very reliable engine. Just not very exciting.. I have driven a handful of rigs with that engine. In an empty 3/4 ton pickup and it isn't too bad. In a 1 ton Chevy ambulance it severely tried my patience.

I am a bit biased. I settled for an 8.3 Cummins because it was the biggest engine commonly found in school buses. I do love my Bluebird but do lust after a Crown with the Cummins 855 and a RTO.9910.

12-window is probably going to be about 37'. My dog is 11 and 35'.

The IDI 444 is a great motor! But all the trash you see people talking about the T444E or the 5.9 about it being underpowered in a big bus, multiply that by 4. They are very reliable units, the areas I have seen issues with them are the glow plug system. If you burn up one plug the others will die extra fast, and anything less than 70 degree temperatures it won't start without working glow.
