I have seen a lot of conversions with tile in the bathroom area and more specific the shower areas. They look really nice. Has anyone had any experience with tiling in a shower on a Skoolie? My concern is the vibration and twist would fatigue the backer and then the tiles

I was about to agree with you, but then I remember all that tile setting I’ve done on top of ply that had far more deflection than you’d think acceptable. Use flexible thinset. I just had to do maintenance on such a floor. It lasted 11 years before tiles started popping.

There are a couple of build threads detailing tile showers.

I used 12x12" tile on the floor in the bathroom and kitchen in my first bus. I ran all over the country for 6+ years and did have a 3/4" crack develop in one cut tile.

My floor was 2layers of 3/4 plywood topped with 1/2" Hardibacker.

But was that floor subject to vibration and twisting? And, it was horizontally affixed.
Just sayin'... [emoji849]

I think it would work the screws and the board around them a little. Maybe opt to use from PL400 with the screws. Probably it would lasso cause the corner grout joint to crack, so sanded or non-sanded caulk of the same grout color for the corner and pan joints.

I wanted to do this on mine but chickened out. I bought a 60 inch wide X 3 foot deep Fibreglass shower stall. I built a 2 X 4 framed walls for each end. and poured 3 bags of self levering floor cement under it. works great.

you can seal that concrete by diluting Weld Bond Glue with water - 4 or 5 - 1 ratio with water being the 4 or 5 and glue the 1 - makes a very good sealer for painting the concrete or tiling
