To thin or not to thin? (Exterior Oil Paint Question)

Bought an exterior grade oil paint and was wondering if we should thin the paint before it goes on?

We are done sanding the bus, planning on Ospho-ing the rusty bits and sealing some of the looser looking seams before a full rub-down of mineral spirits. Just wondering if we should thin the paint?

Thanks.

Where are you? What is the weather like? How are you applying the paint? What brand is it? What color is it? How thin is it?

We're in Texas. Weather is pretty clear, but also like mid-50s. We're planning on rolling it on. Color is sage green ("coastal crush").

Paint is usually thinned for spraying. If you are rolling it, it should be fine straight from the tin.

When I painted my bus, I power washed it w/ phosphate detergent, such as TSP.

Then sanded w/ 220 grit, some use deglosser liquid.

Quick wash, then wipedown with lacquer thinner.

Then primed entire bus.

Then sprayed w/ compressor powered HVLP gun from harbor freight (purple)

You's be wise to use hardener in your paint. Many who roll-on say they wish they'd sprayed.

How much hardener, Rusty? One can per gallon or something?
