Hello

I live in Germany. I want to convert an US BUS. I have woo ways to get one:

First
I can ask an Importeur and he will buy me one in the USA.
Nice: I can choose any Type I like (if ts fit für Registration in Germany)
Not so nice: It s expensive

Second:
I buy one, who s already in Europe. The most will be ex-military. The always have a short nose. Types are like Bluebird All American / TC 2000 or Thomas Saf-Liner- with 44 Passenger Seats or 28 passenger seats.
Pro: There are much cheaper here then in the USA - because they are to exotic for a proffessional fleet.
(Have a Look. Noone want to buy this one für only 2800 Euro plus Taxes - 5500 US-Dollar http://www.vebeg.de/web/de/auktion...UCH_STARTREC=20&SHOW_AUS=1364870&SHOW_LOS=22)Vebeg

My Question: Does anyone know the total lenght of a Shortnose 28 Passenger Thomas Bluebird and the lenght after driver seat? exact or nearly

I have looked, but didn´t find it.

The Shorter One would be better for me, because the total weight after conversion should be under 7,5 tons .... Lenght after driver seat should be 6 meters or 235 zoll too

No No School Bus - all these busses at the vebeg site are from the us-military.

The newer ones (2000 ff) are most Thomas Sat-F-Liner - wirth rear machine und underground storage, isolated windows - very nice, but too heavy for me if they have 44 Seats. It s just an Exemple of the pricing.

The older ones are Bluebirds TC 2000 ---- with 44 seats they have an empty weight about 6,600 tons - maybe i coild strip off 500 kg (Floor, Seats, some windows) - it leaves just 1,2 for conversion stuff ....

So i guess a 28 seater will make about 5 ton. 2,5 ton and a bit more (seats renmoved etc) für RC-Conversion - sounds better

What i need to know, is the length of a 28er seater - the 44er are about 10.2 Meters overall ....

Is it about 8 meters? That wold be fine, is it 6,5 meters overall than it is not enough ....

the windows on the sides are roughly 2-1/2 feet long or 250 centimeters (hope math is right)

Hmm thanks

2 and 1/2 feet ist about 76,2 cm

Problem is: the windows dont have the same length ...
But if you are right: overall length: 8 Windows (6 meter) plus door (09 meter) plus space between (0,5 meter) is about 7,5 meters (295 in) - space behind driver seat will remain rougly 6 meters (236 in). This would do it for me - a bit will be better, aber it s not possible to get one with 35 seats (and flatnose) in germany.

This one is a actuall offer in Germany - (bit shitty) Bluebird

The second Thomas Transitliner (bit shitty)

http://suchen.mobile.de/lkw-inserat/and ... rice=false

The look both like standing four years in the rain .... each will come up to 13.539 Dollar (10.000 Euro) with registration done an plus work and service

Oh wow
Thanks Basil - it s not the same type - seem to have be same size - if i count the windows

but this one has orignally 9 rows of seats or 35 pax (without wehhelchair space) - the bus must be larger than the 28 seaters

35pax 30 feet = 9,18 meter
44 pax - 10,5 Meter 34 feet

28 pax perhabs 7,6 meter to 8 meter or 26 feet

The same -but can t find the owner

Little Add
The small Bluebird seems to be built with the length of 25 ft (small!) and 27 ft (good for me)
