I mean not to throw a wrench into the conversation here or bring up old incidents, but that one time I converted (not disabled) the air brake sensor to a bright yellow visual indicator that one cannot miss on the dash from an audio one to a visual one, ya'll came down pretty hard on me for that. I personally felt that was a little uncalled for.
However, I didn't call anyone names or was disrespectful. I also understood where it was coming from a point of caring for my safety and others. I had read the laws regarding the air brake low pressure warning, and it clearly states it must be an audible or Visual warning so I did not violate any law. I'm also good with electrical when I understand how it works, and good at modifications and doing a good quality job with wiring so it doesn't come apart either, and I can also see how if someone else wanted to do the same thing may not do as good of a job and it fail on them later and that was the spirit of where they were coming from, but this is also a learning site and we are all learning how our stuff works, and I don't put limits on our understanding. I can always add a disclaimer to any Modifications I come up with and allow others to make that choice, but I won't limit what I put on this forum even if it's considered Dangerous to do if it helps others understand better how their buses work. The same info could be used to help someone also fix their air brake pressure sensor if it's broken as well.
But with all that aside, we've moved on, and Chris and company are also just looking out for you too Skymaster. Please don't take it the wrong way.
