I have a couple trans air after market units installed in my bus and was thinking that as they run off DC I could probably hook them up to an inverter or battery bank and run them as house AC.... Looking for opinions both for and against this idea.
Rear air handler, front is the same but a bit smaller.
The condensers are skirt mounted under the bus between driver seat and rear wheels. There is nothing connecting these to the engine other than a couple wires to each.
I looked them up and I think they are 31 amps @13.5vdc for the condensers and the upper units should be around 10 amps @13.5vdc. I have not spent a ton of time on AC as I always thought I would just get a window unit... but these are there and work REALLY well...what do you all think? Is this even possible?
