Unimog 404 bus conversion

Sorry for the long absence. Worked quite hard on the interior, more solar and then I fell of a ladder and broke two ribs and ripped two rotator cuff on my left side. So now recovering from surgery and then it will be a long way with PT.

Johan

Sorry to hear about your injuries Johan. I wondered what happened as you are usually a frequent poster. I am experiencing lower back pain. PT treatment is working. I’m still waiting for the weather to break to complete the frame welding. What’s another year, right?

Hi folks, the unimog 404 frame is specially designed to flex. Also the mitsubishi fuso 4x4 has a frame design like that.

Frame flex with the combination with the coil springs gives it extreme articulation. I like to keep that the way it is since they have a very long and reliable reputation based on flex and three / four point design s of the cabs on top.

Will see where it goes, just another way of having fun building something unusual, hope not unusable .

The girardin bus is supposed to come in next week somewhere. Still lots to do, working on brakes, tanks, fuel pumps. Got both engines running pretty good. most of that with pictures is on steelsoldiers.

Hey Johan,
You do some interesting stuff. Ruth an Sold I will be following along. We are starting a new adventure as well, converting a '95 Eagle Coach to our new Home.

By the way your help discovering the faulty diodes in our friends solar panels, yielded a great deal with Santan Solar. We were able to repair all of the panels for a few bucks and Santan Replaced all 12 without requiring us to return the damaged panels. So her system ended up being twice the size.

Jealous of your Unimog project, in New Mexico-Rock and Ruth.
