Hi everyone, haven't bought a bus yet but when I do it will be a 30 feet or so dog nose. The bedroom will be in the back and the living area and kitchen will be in the front, with a small bathroom area between the two. There will be a door separating the bedroom and bathroom from the living room. Right now I'm just beginning to put together what kind of systems I will want to put in my conversion.

One thing we're going to want for sure is an air conditioner since we'll be spending a lot of time in the southwestern U.S. and Baja. My initial thought was to go with a 12,000 BTU Pioneer mini split, but I'm concerned about cool air reaching the front of the bus if I mount it on the back wall or, conversely, air reaching the bedroom if I mount it above the windshield.

Of course I can always mount a mini split front and back but I'm not super enthusiastic about having to find a place for possibly two compressors and a whole lot of refrigerant lines. An alternative would be to get two of these Velit 2000R 12V rooftop units and put one in the living area and another one in the bedroom. The idea would be to keep the door closed and only run one unit at a time, the living room unit in the daytime and the bedroom unit at night if needed.

My question is, does anyone have any experience with these Velit air conditioners in their skoolie? From the few reviews I've seen it looks like people are putting these mainly in vans. Am I overthinking this and do I really not need two mini splits in a 175 square foot space? If one mini split is enough what do y'all think, should I put the indoor unit in the front or in the back?

Thanks for helping out a complete novice!
