weight of WVO

Hello all,

I secured a good source of WVO today and basically they told me they produce about 10-12 of the 35 lbs bottles every week, which they leave outside of their kitchen for disposal. I picked up 1 bottle today, missed pickup day by 1 day or else I would have gotten all of them from this week too.

My question is how many gallons are these 35 lbs bottles? From my knowledge of water at around 8 lbs per gallon I am guessing these are about 4 gallon bottles.

It is dependent on the specific type, but the weight ranges from 7.2-7.7 pounds per gallon. 7.5 is a nice number to work with.

That means your 35 lbs containers are about 4.33 gallons give or take.
