What’s This?

I hope this isn’t a stupid question but I was wondering if anyone knows what that is on the outside top corners of my bus. It looks like some type of vent but not sure.

Also what that is on the inside corner ceiling?

I realize that part I could take off to find out but I wanted to ask first. I’m thinking to hide wires but not sure. I have seen some conversions that left them intact so it may be something that can’t be removed but again unsure.

Looks like the roof on a MCI MC5 Saudi. Google it. Keeps the sun off. Was yours a military bus? Can't say about the inside.
