Hi,
We bought our first bus (51 Chevy / 6500) in the early 80's. It had been converted to be used on a hunting lease in AR. After having a mechanic go over it he gave us his blessing to take off to CA from central TX.
During the next 4 years we traveled all over the western US working with a seismic crew all over CA, visiting many National Parks, attending a Rainbow family gathering in MO, even traveling with a group of gypsies thru CO and NM eventually returning to central Texas.
We then purchase our fist brick and mortar home, settled down and eventually sold the bus. You can sell the bus but you cannot get it out of your blood. So over the next 10 to 15 years I drove buses for a recreational outfitter eventually becoming a School Bus driver.
Now that my wife and I are reaching retirement age we are considering converting a mid sized bus into a food truck, We would use it to travel between TX and CO where we own land (winters in TX / Summers in CO) using the food truck to cover the traveling cost.

awesome ideas!! Travelling food trucks have different rules to follow as far as food peddling in various areas... i know others have discussed the idea of monbile coffee shops and what not .. I think your biggest hurdles will be licensing anywhere that you want to stop and sell food... if you are out in the country you mauy be able to skirt some of that but then how big is the customer base.... I truly love the idea if you can pull it off..

Welcome back Otto !!!

Sounds like you had a pretty good adventure.

I found this food truck a couple days ago when I was perusing Craigslist
Food truck, business, inventory, equipment

Other than what the ad says....

First choice would be to hook up with music oriented festivals, like kerrville, four corners, maybe somewhere for the 4th of July.I wish I was ready to jump on a bus like the one in AR it sounds like a great deal. I have 5 more years before I can retire full-time.
Sounds like I better spend some time researching health law requirerments first
