Here is a picture I came across of what a tornado did to a bus. I bet that bus sold cheap.

I've seen photos of 2 different buses that got hit broadside by a train. In both instances, the body was torn from the chassis. Neither of them looked as bad as this tornado skoolie. That's impressive!

I wonder if that has a 4.33 rear end....

I don't know about that, but it looks like there may be a few of those plastic window latches you were needing available!

It looks like the damage might have been cause from it being rolled over many times? It would have also been hit by a lot of debris.

And people ask how I can live in Kalifornia with all the earthquakes. I'll gladly take an earthquake every 20-30 years over a tornado every 20-30 minutes.

Same thing with living in Buffalo. Yeah, I have to shovel every so often, but at the worst, I can sit at home, in a warm house and sip hot chocolate in the midst of a big storm. I don't have to worry about tornados, hurricanes, mudslides, rampaging fires, floods, etc ...

Elliot, what did you write about?

Say what? In what context? Do you mean my Gainful Employment, or something more specific?

In my Gainful Employment -- which happens in the present tense, not the past tense -- I write mostly about automobiles, but also a bunch of other Stuff, like boats and trains and so forth, plus a touch of Social Commentary. No, sorry, you cannot read it, unless you are Norwegian, because I write it in Norwegian. And it is in print only, not on the internet. Once in a long while I write a story in both languages --the last were in Street Rodder and Popular Hot Rodding about ten years ago.

How did that come up?????

:D
Ah... NOW I get it! I was responding to the post directly above:

Interesting -- BTW I'm curious about something... I never saw a Blue Bird with the logo on the roof until I got into this site, what's up with that?

Blue Birds generally have that swoopy bird on the roof, just like Thomas has the silouette of a bus with the word Thomas inside. But "normal citizens" would never notice -- they just notice a Big Yellow Thing.

You make a good point, Jimmy. I should have quoted what I was replying to. I applogize.

Now YOU appologize for the same, please!
:D

:D
If you could see the tornados (-- this is a thread about tornados -- or it was --) the tornados that are in my mind... not only would I have to appologize something mighty, but you'd probably run away screaming.

Probably the ThomasBuilt badge above the licence plate next to the rear emergency door. I'd bet serious money it was a front-engine Safe-T-Liner.

In my experience the easiest way to tell is that the thomas bodies usually have a metal blank at the end of the window row (right before the leading edge of the end cap), where it looks like there should be another half window or something. Bluebird has the windows going all the way back with no flat metal piece at the end of the window row.
