When you open the baggage compartment there will be a cable clipped to the door. Unclip it and connect it to the loop to hold the door up.:thumb:
Upon closer inspection of the pic, it seems no baggage doors, so maybe an after thought for connecting something to the side.

I don't have a baggage compartment, want to install them tho! I do have some holes under where these loops are, and only in line with em

From the appearance of droppings beneath the loops, maybe hummingbird perches..?

They're in staggered pairs, from the images posted. Do the continue that pattern the entire length of the shotgun side?
My guess is to belay long items from. Definitely after market, to be sure.
they could be where someone tied their dogs - when I travel with my toyhauler to be, I'll have a series of eyebolts around the outside of the bus to fasten my dogs to during pee breaks
Some seem too close to avoid the dawgs fouling their lines.
(Tangling foul, not tinkling...)

Lol not poop but wear an tare from things being hooked on. They are only about half the length of the bus. But there are holes underneath them by a foot or two that must've held something else to correspond with them. Was going to call willco transportation and see what they say tomorrow

Roger willco... [emoji849]

the dogs are secured this way during pee breaks and to be fed - 'drop chains' are about 12" long, with a swivel snap on both ends of the chain - you can fasten two dogs to the same loop on the truck by fastening one swivel snap into the ring of the other swivel snap so they can move over, under and around each other without tangling

It may be that this particular bus had vinyl/canvas "recruiting" or "hiring" signs ... it might have been used basically as a billboard to hire drivers for the school district. The loops used to secure the banner/sign. That's my guess.

My bus has *One*, which is intended to secure the wheelchair door open.

That would work...

Rare indeed, the times I've had more than a single dawg, so never pondered on how to provide potty time for a pack!

This. Maybe not all schools do this but some schools do when they take the team for away games they have banners on the side of the bus assuming the school district wasn't wealthy enough for a dedicated team bus in school color livery. Also seen many districts park a bus with a Hiring banner affixed to the side.

They look like factory Blue Bird luggage door holders, as was suggested earlier. I have them on my 1994.

The spacing seems odd, though, so they may have been repurposed.
Looking at the panels below, there may have been compartments there originally. Look for traces of compartments underneath. There might be "tracks" where the big J-hooks went over the frame.

I'm thinking that someone put anchors in to tie stuff on the roof and placed them low enough for easy access? Just a thought. :)

I like the school/team banner idea.

If you actually painted the bus, then it wouldn't be yellow anymore - which could disqualify it from running a regular school route during the day. (Not to mention that I think people would flip if the school spend $5000 on custom paint. A $500 banner, no problem.)

EDIT - But there's only one row, and that's an odd height for a banner. . .
