What can you tell me about this bus?

Hey everyone, long time lurker...first time member/poster. We have this bus coming up on an auction, and it looks too good to resist. Not sure what I'd do with it, but at least I'd buy it for scrap value. It's a 1964 GMC without an engine. How much does it weigh? Looks like a storage shed! No engine? That would make for one major project bus. :? There is a bus that looks very similar a few miles from here. I have often thought that it would make a great project, unique body shape, but lots of work. 8)

That has got to be an early 50's bus. I think GM went to the new look (fishbowl) by the mid-60's.

It would be a shame to scrap a bus like that. Looks pretty cool to me but way over my head getting it back in shape. Hope you get it.

Don't know much about it but the body sure has some nice lines.

Yea...I bought the bus yesterday! We are going to go rob some parts off it on Saturday and then pull it into the scrap yard. The family actually cleaned it all out before the auction and cheered Move That Bus when we pulled it out of the spot it had been sitting for the last 20 or so years. It has a couple seats I'm going to take out, lights, grab bar and a few other goodies but then I should make some money when I haul it in. That will be a fun ride, about 20 miles back roads to the scrapper!

did you scrap it? If not, take ALL glass out first! that stuff sells on craiglist and e-bay for a fortune. especially windshields if not cracked.

And those upper one piece jobs are almost impossible to find.

Well...I guess I read this a little too late! I did save some stuff to use on my project though. Grab rails, seats, turn signals

I think it is a scrap and so old bus. Now it is of no use any parts of it are not working so to use it as a bus after repairing leads to huge investment and it is not a great idea. Only thing can be done to sell it as a scrap.

ya its scrap but there was a ton of parts that could be used for other busses.
