What did you do with the emergency doors?

I was wondering what you all did the side emergency exits? Did you cover it up with insulation? Or did you keep it as an exit?
I'm trying to get opinions on what's best, so I can decide for mine. It won't be used a home if that matters, but for a cross country trip to be later converted to a home.

Any advice is welcome about the back door too!

We have a rear emergency door. Retained so that we can move the appliances in/out as needed for repair or replacement. Most of our residential sized appliances are too big to go out the front entry door and the alternative is to remove the front windshield and use a hoist to get an appliance out. Much cheaper and easier for us to take the bed apart and open the rear door (and don't forget to duck )

Good idea, I'll have to keep it open.. at least until I get the couch in!

I kept mine, side entry. It's in just the right place to load things into cabinets when stocking up.

I kept mine in place and am using it as the main entrance until I get a different door designed and built for the front door as it kind of sucks right now.

Mine seals great so if I do ever end up building in front of it, I'm still not going to get rid of it because it's MUCH easier to move big things in and out through it than the front side door.

I kept all my exits functional. Doors, windows and hatches.

Remember, you are in a big metal box, if you get in a wreck or even if you just run over something like a curb or bump in the road you may get a door or two stuck. Having 2 exits is a must and three is better preferably on different sides/ends of the bus.

The same goes with a fire, you will want to make sure you have several way to exit the bus, busting out a window may work well with a man or large women but smaller and weaker individuals may not be able to break out a window or quickly crawl out a window.

Good point! I think I should make one of the window exits into a door-type exit, since the plan is to have a couch up against the back of the bus.
Although, it would be easier just to move the couch
