What did you do with your seats?

Goodwill happily took mine. Mine unbolted easy because my bus has mounting tracks on the floor, and the nuts are inside, not under the bus. The folks at Goodwill helped me get them out of the bus, as they were a bit heavy. Somewhere, they are now garage couches....:trash:

any seats i took out... left by the curb night before recycling day in my subdivision.. old crusty guy in a rusty truck always comes through amnd takes anything metal.. GONE

So far, mine are still installed. I only have 6 seats in the bus and a 3' wide aisle (so each seat is only rated for 2 passengers).

12 seated passengers + 2 wheelchairs = 14 passenger capacity.

I took mines to a scrap metal place and got about 45 dollars for the matal part. The weight of the upholstered part got me more than i should have gotten :D

Wasn't even supposed to drop that part off lol

I was gonna put a couple out on the front porch. I live in North Georgia (NoGa) and it seemed to me that it fit the general scheme of things up here.

But ... sigh ... the wife said no, it would make it look like hillbillies lived here.

Dang.

The wheel chair lift is sitting behind the shed for now... I have some ideas for using the hydraulics... And the expanded metal will get used for something, that stuff is spendy...

There has got to be about a billion things to do with an old wheel chair lift. My bus didn't come with one, but I'm gonna keep my eyes open for a free one in my area.

+1 on re-using all the scrap metal. All of it goes into what I call inventory.
That stuff can be pricey and, as I say, cheap is good, but FREE is better.

I didn't have any seats. My bus was a bookmobile.:ermm:

But I had a dozen Maple bookshelves to unload- my neighbor happily took them all. They are nice.

I repurposed three frames into the build. Took the rest to a salvage yard a mile from my house and used that $20 to dump the cushions and the county facility a mile the other direction from me but what the 20$ didn't cover at the county dump I took home and stuck one a week into my garbage can that is picked up weekly for 17-a month?
No complaints from them and if ever then I want to complain about them showing up at 2-3am. Not to disrespect the workers job or there hours but really? 2-3am?

My seats were in the yard the day of removing them. The next day a guy took 3 of them and the day after that the rest were gone including my "Free" sign by time I got home from work.

may acxtually be less.. you can use adult seating capacity when a bus is no longer used for school service.. and its less.. a full wide bench seat in a school bus is 3 child or 2 adult. if you have seats with built in child restraints thats rated as a single seat child or adult, unless its the exytra wide 2 child restraint seat then its 2 child or 2 adult.

Anyone want some free seats? I'm about to gut my new shorty this week. They're elementary sized and sit a bit lower than regular school bus seats.

If anyone has any regular height school bus seats in nice shape I'm looking for a right and a left to put together for a dinette.
