What fluid for AT-545 transmission, and how much?

Just noticed my AT-545 fluid is a bit low, or really low… don’t know yet. I have put Valvoline ATF in it before, but now I can’t find a source for why I used that fluid and I’m questioning myself. Is it a problem that it has this fluid in it? Should I just top it off with the same fluid? Also how much does it take?

how much did you put in of the valvoline?
you should be looking for a fluid comparable to TRANSYND.

Back in 2020, I had my transmission line leak and I lost most of not all of my fluid. This is what I replaced it with. I used about 3 gallons back then. I’ve driven from New Mexico to Florida and back since then.

AT-545 call for Dexron-II on the spec sheet, I'll put a scan of it below. The Valvoline Multi-Vehicle Full Synthetic ATF meets Dexron-II standards according to it's own spec sheet, I'll upload the pdf for it. It's perfectly fine to use that fluid.



Under oil type you will see Dexron-II is recommended

On page two under GM it has Dexron-II qualifications

If that's the fluid you can get ahold of easily. Keep on using it.

Awesome. That’s a relief. I definitely freaked myself out this morning when I couldn’t figure out why I started using that fluid.
