Good morning everyone. My name is Aaron and as of 24 hours ago, I have joined the ranks of the disheveled and the pristine. Time will tell where I end up in that scale. Though I'm deff closer to the disheveled end.
My new beauty is a 1961 MCI MC2 courier challenger. She is by no means perfect. But functional.
Rebuilt Detroit 6v71. Has 1000 hours on it. New injectors, injection pump, compressor. New brakes. Bus has been fully converted. Though I will be changing some things. The plan is not to drive it much. More of a seasonal camper. The camper is located in Atikokan, ont. 6 hours east of me. Will stay there till spring when the snow is off the ground.
I'm looking forward to continuing to restore this beauty. She is complete. But needs a little love on some outside panel work. Lights. Small dent in back left corner.
I paid $5000 Canadian. This includes storage till spring, and a couple incidental repairs. Being 6 hours away from me, I can't just hop in my car and go work in it. I also require my air brake indorsement so that is on the to-do list over the winter. Looking forward to picking some brains and if anybody has some good specific info on this model and updates that would be great! If I keep the bus ling term, I would consider swapping in a more fuel efficient engine. So any recommendations in that department would be great. I would like to stay away from as much electronics as possible. Or at least stuff that requires very expensive computers to work in.
