What is the price range for late 90s early 2000s bluebird all Americans?

Specifically 40' rear engine 8.3 around 98-2004

I looked at one 360k Ran well, they wanted $6500 and it seemed like a nice bus, a little hickup on the first cold 1-2 shift md3060 but after that it shifted perfectly.

No rust or significant body damage, under bus storage, a great start.

I don't mind following auctions, or even buying direct from a district, but I cant find closed auctions with prices to compare.

I'm in the pnw but dont mind traveling.

When I first started looking for a bus I used the public surplus auction site, registered and added the busses I was interested in to my "watchlist" and then waited for the end of the auction to see how much the busses I was looking at sold for.

After a while I got comfortable with the pricing and then took the leap of faith. I was lucky enough to get mine for $1475 bucks, 40' Amtran RE with a DT466E (240k miles) / Md3060 trans complete with under belly storage boxes!

Me personally, I wouldn't pay as high for a school bus ($6500). But then again I am a cheapskate...still go to lunch at Taco Bell... What ever bus you buy will be stripped down/taken apart and upgraded so a little rust and welding is ok with me.

Happy hunting and good luck in finding a bus that fits your needs!

My only concern with that bus is the high mileage. That bus would bring $2500-$5000 at auction. Good drivetrain.
On the auction sites you have to be registered and logged in to view closed auctions.

Make sure that your auction account it properly enabled and verified for some sites. Some don't alert you until you're ready to bid, only to find out you have to wait a few days for verification.

I paid 1995.00 for a 2002 AA RE3 with a Cummins 5.8, MD3060, belly storage, and top speed of 70mph.
I have seen them as much as 10-20k at some dealers and as little as 1k at auctions (not in a while though)
