Wheel well vs Recliner?

Hey Everyone,

I am working on my layout and the wheel wells are giving me fits.

I REALLY want a reclining love seat in the bus and am having a bit of a challenge working around the wheel well.

If I place the recliner athwartship behind the wheel well it will fit but I feel like I am wasting a bunch of space if I place it that far back.

I considered building a platform over the wheel well but that will raise the base of the couch about 7" above the surrounding floor. I don't think that will play well.

If I were building my own couch or bought a (non-reclining) factory couch with a wood frame I could make it fit over the wheel well but I really do want the recliner.

Any suggestions?

most sofa/loveseats have legs on them build a platform leave the legs off.

I will have to look at more of a selection. None of the ones that I have looked at so far have legs. The one I have my eye on has "feet" that are about 3/8" thick. I am afraid that won't gain me enough to do any good.

I will look about and see what I can find. I need about 7"-8".

Look under the seat and see what occupies the space the hump would fill. Might get lucky and be able to work around the issue.

I did look. Unfortunately, I did not get lucky.

The non-reclining, wood framed couches that I looked at would allow me to cut and reframe part of the structure to fit. No such luck with the recliners. The reclining mechanism is in the way.

Good suggestion though.
