Where's cheap water tanks

I've Looking for cheap water tanks in Canada for while now and I must not be looking in the right place.

Here's my best options at the moment . Shipped to my door.
2x26ga is $450
1x63 GA is $520

The prices are too steep for me. Yes I know I live in Canada and I should already know we pay more but errrrrr

buy a water damaged trailer or motor home for less than the price of some of those tanks, and get tanks, cook stove, refrigerator, furnace, plumbing, toilets, propane valves and tank holders etc, etc, and in the case of a trailer, have a frame with wheels, suspension, wiring and lights ready to put a deck on to haul your whatever to where ever you want, all for the price of a holding tank

I've been doing that, actually working in my awning tonight I just got from a camper. but for my drinking I'm going new

I got a 40 Gallon tank from a crashed food truck for 15$.

It was a good deal but a bitch to mount.

In hindsight I would pay money for a new one that was easier to mount.

Compost toilet, no black water tank. I have 2 fresh water and one gray. No reason it can't be used for a black tank.

same here compost only, no black tank on the bus. 100 gal fresh water bout all I want to haul gets pretty heavy.

Those are good deal even after conversion.I'm probably going with them. It's risky as customs is a pain when shipping but way cheaper than what I've been looking at. Knew Asking that question on here be a good idea. Thanks again

Keep in mind you get what you pay for. I have seen many different holding tanks. Some are paper thin and welds were knocked off just looking at them. I have recently bought a ICON holding tank and it is worlds of difference then the cheap ones I bought previously. The way they are welded and formed makes a big difference.

I bought (2) rectangular 50 gal. Ronco tanks through Northern Tool, largely because the shipping was reasonable.

for me I would look at use case.. if momney is tight and your rig is going to be within a half day of a city or other civilization then perhaps the top of the line tanks arent needed.. a leak doesnt become a possible serious issue.. but if you are travelling way out in the desert.. .. long distances from anyone and everyone.. I'd want to make sure my water supply is as safe from leakage as possible...

So as of now, I'm leaning towards 10" PVC pipe with a 3/8" wall thickness that will mount under the bus. Haven't decided on the length yet, I need to look at placement options.

The price is competitive with the cheapest of other holding methods and you don't have to worry about the "sloshing" factor or filling your tank under pressure. The pressure is a big deal to me because I want to fill my tanks that way.

Elaborate on "Pressure filling". I use a gravity feed that you stick the hose in the spout and fill till it comes out the vent, that way no pressure in the tank to bust it.

Look for a rotomolder / rotational molder (or moulder for any Canucks!) anywhere close by. Who makes all the tanks used on farms there? If you have a choice, use a rotomolded tank instead of one welded from lots of separate pieces - it's always going to be stronger. Getting the tank is only half the story: you also need all the fittings for inlet/outlet/vent/etc spin-welded into place because polyethylene cannot be glued reliably. A good rotomolder will have a selection of different fittings, but choose the heavy-duty ones that are thicker: they distort and stretch less when you thread something into them. And if you can transport the tanks yourself you'll save a lot of money.

I paid US$2.50 a gallon for my tanks when Ronco made them a few years ago, including spinning in all the fittings exactly where I needed them. That should give you some idea of what to pay, ish.
