I've heard the Thomas busses come in 6'0", and 6'3" and 6'6" - does anyone else know which busses have heights over about 6 foot 3 inches or so inside? I'm thinking that should be a major factor in narrowing down what I want - I really want to stand up inside and not develop a hump from crouching, and an extra inch or two to allow a bit of floor and ceiling insulation enhancement is even better yet.

Pretty much all the buses come with optional roof height. The way to tell by just looking at them, you take a look at the bus from the side profile at the roof line, if you look at enough of them, you'll notice 3 different style roof lines. The lowest ones (and unfortunately the most common) are the dropped roof, you can see the front roof cowl and the rest of the roof drops about 3" all the way back, these are "Generally" ABOUT 6' in height, if the roof goes straight back from the cowl (just above the front windshield), then it's likely to be around 6-3, and if you see the roof raise up from the cowl all the way back, those are the 6-6 roof lines...

Dropped Roof

Straight Roof

Raised Roof

I was just thinking about that issue recently. I'm not going to be able to put insulation on the floor because I am 6'1" and I'll have to duck down. I have a bluebird. I think the height is about 6'3".

Does anyone put any other type of insulation on the floor besides the foamboard type? Or maybe I could go with a thinner plywood?

I just used carpet padding and carpet, worked well enough...

From my research of older model buses thus far it seems like the Carpenter buses have a 6'6" ceiling. Also, the Thomas buses that have a roof line that raises up as it goes back behind the driver's area have 6'6" ceiling. Newer transit style buses where the windows raise up behind the driver typically also have high ceilings.

Really? I thought the TC2000s had like 6'2" ceilings. Is yours a typical model, or does it have a different roofline? Do you have pics up on this site anywhere?

Thanks,
Dan
