Who has kept their rear heaters?

I'm keeping mine, but it's in my work area. I'm using the back for my workshop. The back will be isolated from the front. Thus the reason to keep the heater. It actually gets cold down here in Texas during the winter. I'll have my pics on how I'm building around the heater as my project continues.

I kept mine, it is under the bed and with one side heating the bathroom.

you can keep them alright. dont forget its just wiring and plumbing. you can put that heater wherever you can drill holes in the floor for the lines to come through!

We kept ours even though it doesn't work that well. We didn't want to create a big problem by pulling stuff out of the engine. We're going to put a metal duct around it and keep it underneath one of our benches. If you follow my conversion there will be pics up in a week or two of the couches we're building and there will probably be pictures of what we did around the heater.

After much debate on how and where I was going to relocate them, because I really wanted to keep them.

Another member on here gave me a great idea on what to do with mine.

I cut the legs off which allowed several more inches. I ordered fan blades for counterclockwise motors. Mine were clockwise. This way the fans now push the air through the heater core instead of pulling it through. This allows the heater unit to be mounted sideways.

I'm going to be putting one under my kitchen counter and the other one under the bed facing out.

after trying to decide what to do with them, we are going to keep one and put it under the bunk. i dont think that we would be useing the bus in the winter, but if we decided to go south , it would be nice to have a little heat. -27 to-40 here in the winter, also I figured we could use are furnace, and worst case start the generator up and run some electrice heaters.

id pull them out to do the flooring. remember though it affects your coolant levels!

PURA VIDA, we kept the heater in the entire time. Ripped up the flooring underneath, as we were doing it someone just held the heater up off the ground a little. Same thing when we laid the plywood. Same thing when we caulked. Just leave it free of debris and give it air, wouldn't want a fire.

Kept mine (only had one) in the B-700, will certainly keep one (maybe both) in the Genesis...I will use the bus in the winter, so they stay. I would (and did) remove them to do the flooring & reinstalled when it was done. (Actually, I reinstalled when the interior was mostly done because I didn't want to work around them.)

Also: they're a quick heat-dump if the engine starts running hot. Probably won't keep it cool, but may let you get someplace better than where you see the gauge creeping up.

the valve for your bus hearter is in the eng compartment .open the dog house an look down at the rear of the eng and on the left side conner theres a valve,,i belive its a t-valve if it been replace it well look like the one on your house for your hose,,,, hope this helps
