Why a Skoolie over an RV?

I am so old i watched the muppets before they made a movie.
I remember Kermit when he didnt have legs.
I even remember when Michael Jackson was black.

I remember Howdy Doody and Clarabelle the clown who, later, became Captain Kangaroo. Also Lambchop. I was already out of the Navy in the 70s.

In my particular case, I chose a coach over an RV largely because I desperately needed things to do to keep myself out of trouble. Having lived in an RV for several years, I knew exactly what I liked and didn't like and what the lifestyle looked like. The problem for me with the motorhome was that all the work was done. I was unable to haul a "shop" around (for other hobbies) and my existing hobbies just didn't keep me busy enough. So, I ended up dreaming myself into trouble. My life was 'more screwed up' than normal during that time so no big surprise.

I was NOT under the illusion that I could do it better or cheaper than the RV manufacturers, that it would be quick or easy, or that it would be a 'good investment'.

All that said, building exactly what I wanted/needed was an attractive aspect. In hindsight, it is sure easy to 'imagine' much more than is 'reasonably possible.'

It was partridge family that got me.
About 5 yrs ago i had an accident that left me unable to work. I spent my time thinking about traveling. Saw a skoolie, and remembered how cool buses were and started research and planning. Took me 5 yrs to get it, but i did. I figure if i do 2-6 hrs a day, i should complete it in my time frame, + 2 yrs to make it perfect lol
