I’ve got a 64 international Loadstar 1700/1703 bus with a v-8. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for it as in engine harness? Does anyone know if it has any clutch safety switches? I put a battery in it and turn the key and nothing would happen. I’m getting power to the switch is the a start procedure? Ithe clutch pedal is not pushing in but I did get it in neutral and jumped the solenoid it turns.

yes theere should be a safety switch on the clutch pedal to where it wont start without the pedal pushed in
first figure out why the pedal wont go in and once thats moving try starting with the key and clutch working
if that isnt it and jumping the solenoid works then replace the solenoid.
there were two different engine options for your bus so you need to figure out which one you have before we can help you figure out your wire harness but in that era the electrical is pretty straight forward simple.
after you get it turning over the next thing will be cleaning the points and a temporary fuel source because the tank is probably trashed.
i have rescued many old vehicles just by strapping a five gallon can under the hood for the fuel pump to feed off of.
good luck

the designation 1700 was a cab and chassis version to be fitted with whatever the owner wanted it to be. the 1703 series were there school bus designation
03school master but everything was exactly the same as the 1700 truck powertrain and they even made a 1700 truck series that was 4x4. that would be cool to fix that thing at make it four wheel drive.
might need to get under there and pull the inspection plate and lube the transmission input shaft and clutch release bearing and maaybe a prybar to get the clutch pedal moving again

Hey thank y’all very much for the info how do I tell which motor is in it? I pull the carpenter coach and the International Harvester co. Plates off but they don’t have the engine on it.
